What Are Some Ways I Can Workout Without Even Knowing it??
Is your schedule so busy that some days you cat find any time to work out? That’s ok! Most people don’t realize that by tweaking little things in your daily lifestyle you can actually burn quite a few calories! Just by going about your daily activities such as running errands, doing chores around the house, hanging out with friends and even when you are at work you are burning calories. Essentially, the more calories burned the more weight you lose. The key is to stay active and keep moving. Some great ideas to incorporate a workout into your daily activities would be to ride your bike to work, park further away so you have to walk further, and to utilize the stairs whenever possible. These extra few steps will add to your caloric deficit for that day and decrease your weight. These steps will also increase the muscle atrophy in your legs and increase your cardiovascular limits. You may also consider transforming your grocery shopping duties into a workout.
Isnt grocery shopping already a workout??
Yes, sometimes simply going grocery shopping may feel like a workout in itself. However, If you are able to carry a single bag into your residence at a time, this will increase the number of trips in and out of your residence and you will be burning even more calories!! Remember, the more steps taken the more calories burned.
Is there any way to actually count the number of steps you take??
Another great yet inexpensive resource I would suggest investing in would be a Pedometer. This device can calculate the number of steps you take throughout your day leaving all the stress and hassle out of your hands! A realistic goal would be to aim for 10,000 steps taken per day. This is the equivalent of walking 3-4 miles. Another great advantage of the pedometer is you are able physically see your number of steps this can only motivate you to increase your workload and walk more. If you set your step goal for each day, you can monitor and adjust your lifestyle to meet this goal.
Another thing you can change about your daily lifestyle is to, throw some ankle weights on before you go somewhere; work, grocery shopping, walking your dog, the park etc. this extra weight will force your muscles to work harder and will be a little more challenging for them, compared to just walking without them. Now days you can find some pretty small, non-bulky weights that can easily fit under your pants or socks. Though this is a small adjustment, every little bit helps in the fight against calorie burning!
